Introducing: TAP’s newly-designed wearable keyboard
I am thrilled to share with you that the TAP newly-designed wearable keyboard has already been sent to the first users who pre-ordered the device on the company’s website. On this occasion, I wanted to take the opportunity and give you a sneak pick into the interesting thought and design processes behind the latest revamp in the product. Our main goal in formulating TAP’s industrial design was to make sure it caters perfectly both to the values and the functionality of our users: young professionals living in a fast-pace environment, juggling multiple tasks throughout the day, looking for well-designed and cutting-edge solutions to seamlessly integrate into their daily lives.
The idea behind TAP was always to facilitate ease of use. As most of you know, there has been no ‘easy’ way to navigate content in the VR space… In founding TAP, I set off to change that. First, it was crucial for me to find an industrial designer who is not only a gifted maker but also masters the art of user experience. To that end, I was fortunate to connect and work closely with acclaimed design guru, Ron Tsang. Together, we embarked on the excited journey to match the TAP technology with a smooth effortless user experience – from a design standpoint. Today, I can proudly say we’ve succeeded.
You’ll notice that the final product (which I hope you’ll check out!) is as beautifully crafted as a fine piece of jewelry. Functional, but elegant. Durable, but not cumbersome.
Take a look at the video below to see how we integrated the design to meet our user’s needs while remaining true to our brand identity:
Finally, I would love to get your feedback! Just TAP a few words and share with us your TAP experience.
Until next time,
